Wastewater

In the case of membrane bioreactors (MBR) and Moving Bed Biofilm Reactor Technology (MBBR), depending on the application, membranes can either be placed in an external loop to the bioreactor or be submerged in the bioreactor itself. The raw wastewater gets biologically pre-treated in a bioreactor and is pumped to the membrane. The activated sludge from the bioreactor remains outside the membrane interface. Due to the small pore size, all other suspended solids and pathogens of any kind are also separated safely.

In the case of AQUASMART advanced SBR, an anaerobic selector is integrated into the bioreactor, which suppresses the growth of bacteria that causes sludge bulking and the internal recycling of the biomass from the main bioreactor zone to the selector. Additional features are the simultaneous biological carbon oxidation, nitrification/ denitrification and dephosphorization in the same bioreactor, shorter cycle times, omission of a separate denitrification cycle (and so, no mixers for denitrification are necessary), and process control only using OUR (Oxygen Uptake Rate).

Our treatment solutions are available in containers, and depending on temperature, effluent composition and design conditions, 1,000 PE or up to 400 m3/d wastewater can be treated per unit.
