Greywater Recycling

More than 50% of the water demand is for showering, bathing, washing hands, and washing machines for domestic use. The resulting water is named greywater.

Due to the rising costs in conventional drinking water supply and wastewater disposal with their high consumption of energy, innovative and sustainable techniques of reusing water have become more crucial in recent years.

AQUASMART greywater systems provide water for reuse using membrane technology and have low space requirements. In our systems water is produced daily and can be reused immediately and directly.

Using submerged ultra-filtration units, biologically treated greywater is ultrafiltered. For example, the greywater from showers, bathtubs and hand washing basins is prefiltered and enters a bioreactor, where the aerobic biological treatment occurs. The resulting water is then subjected to UV treatment before being pumped into a clean water tank. Without solids, bacteria and viruses, the treated water can then be reused safely.
